Artificial Intelligence Tools Policy

AI-assisted tools cannot be listed as authors because they cannot accept accountability, declare conflicts, approve the final work, or hold rights.

Authors

Authors remain fully responsible for accuracy, originality, citations, confidentiality, and ethical compliance. Substantive use of generative AI for text, analysis, coding, images, translation, or other content must be disclosed in the manuscript with the tool, version, purpose, and human verification. AI-generated citations must be checked. Confidential, personal, patient, or proprietary information must not be entered into unauthorized services.

Editors and Reviewers

Editors and reviewers must preserve confidentiality and must not upload manuscripts, reviewer reports, or personal information to generative AI or other unauthorized systems. Limited administrative use may occur only through publisher-approved, secure tools with human oversight and no delegation of editorial judgment.

Undisclosed or Misleading Use

Undisclosed AI use, fabricated information, manipulated images, false citations, or use that compromises privacy or authorship accountability may lead to correction, rejection, retraction, or other action under the publication-ethics policy.
