Data Availability and Reproducibility Policy

AMCR promotes transparent reporting, responsible data sharing, and reproducible research while protecting privacy, consent, confidentiality, intellectual property, and legitimate security restrictions.

Data Availability Statement

Research articles must include a data availability statement describing where supporting data, code, protocols, or materials can be accessed. If data cannot be shared openly, authors must state the reason, the conditions for controlled access, and the contact or repository responsible for requests.

Repositories and Documentation

• Use a trustworthy subject, institutional, or general repository when appropriate and provide a persistent identifier.
• Deposit de-identified data, analysis code, data dictionaries, protocols, and reporting materials needed to understand or reproduce the work when ethically and legally possible.
• Cite reused datasets and software and describe versions, exclusions, transformations, and analytic decisions.

Restricted Data

Patient-level or sensitive information must not be disclosed contrary to consent, ethics approval, or law. Necessary restrictions must be specific and must not be used to conceal evidence. Editors may request confidential access for verification subject to appropriate safeguards.

Integrity and Retention

Authors must retain primary records for the period required by their institution, funder, or applicable regulation and cooperate with reasonable post-publication enquiries. Fabricated, falsified, or unavailable evidence may trigger correction, expression of concern, retraction, or institutional referral.
