Author Guidelines
Before submission
- Confirm that the manuscript is original, not published, and not under consideration elsewhere.
- Select an article type within the journal's aims and scope.
- Remove author-identifying information from the review file and its document properties for double-anonymous review.
- Prepare title-page information separately, including all authors, affiliations, email addresses, and ORCID iDs where available.
- Disclose funding, conflicts of interest, ethics approval, trial registration, informed consent, author contributions, data availability, preprints, and related manuscripts as applicable.
Manuscript structure
Use clear academic English and a standard editable document format. Original research should normally include title, structured abstract, keywords, introduction, methods, results, discussion, conclusion, declarations, references, tables, and figures. Reviews should follow an appropriate reporting guideline. Case reports should follow CARE and include written consent for publication.
Reporting standards
Authors should use the applicable EQUATOR Network guideline, including CONSORT for randomised trials, STROBE for observational studies, PRISMA for systematic reviews, CARE for case reports, STARD for diagnostic studies, ARRIVE for animal research, or another relevant standard. Checklists and flow diagrams should be uploaded when applicable.
References, figures, and data
References must be accurate and consistently formatted. Tables and figures must be cited in sequence, legible, and accompanied by titles or legends. Authors must identify the source and permission status of third-party material. A data-availability statement is required, with repository links and persistent identifiers where feasible and ethical.
Peer review and revisions
JACR uses double-anonymous review by a minimum of three independent reviewers. Revised submissions should include a clean manuscript, a marked version when requested, and a point-by-point response.
