JACR Submission and Publication Process

Every manuscript begins with a focused editorial assessment, proceeds through three independent reviewers, and is tracked in OJS after the initial screening.

Email the manuscript prepared with the appropriate JACR template and all required supporting documents to journalanesthesiology@gmail.com. Initial submission through OJS is not required.

Editorial workflow

STEP 01

Email submission

The corresponding author sends the manuscript, cover letter, declarations, figures, and supplementary files to the JACR editorial email.

STEP 02 · 1–3 DAYS

Editorial assessment

Editors assess fit with JACR aims and scope, originality, completeness, research integrity, and similarity using ORCA.

STEP 03

OJS account and tracking

For manuscripts that pass screening, the editorial office creates an OJS account, registers the submission, and provides credentials to the author for ongoing tracking.

STEP 04 · 2–4 WEEKS

Independent peer review

Three independent reviewers evaluate the manuscript, focusing on scientific substance, methodological rigor, validity, clarity, and contribution to the field.

STEP 05

Editorial decision

The editor synthesizes all three reviews and issues one decision: accept, minor revision, major revision, or decline.

STEP 06 · 1–2 WEEKS

Author revision

For minor or major revision, the author submits a revised manuscript and a clear point-by-point response to reviewer and editor comments.

STEP 07

Re-evaluation and acceptance

Reviewers and the editor reassess the revision. When the scientific and methodological improvements are satisfactory, JACR issues a Letter of Acceptance.

STEP 08 · ≈ 1 WEEK

Copyediting and proofreading

The accepted manuscript undergoes language and presentation quality checks supported by EIGO. The edited version is returned to the author for approval.

STEP 09

Galley proof and production

A galley proof is issued for the author’s final accuracy check. After approval, the article enters production and publication scheduling.

Quality and timing note

The stated timeframes are typical targets and may vary with manuscript complexity, reviewer availability, author response time, and the number of revision rounds. The approximate 43% acceptance rate describes the journal’s recent editorial selectivity and does not guarantee an outcome for any individual submission.
