From submission to production

01Email submission

The author emails the complete manuscript package. Recommended subject: “New Manuscript Submission – [Article Type] – [Short Title]”.

02Editorial assessment · 1–3 days

Editors assess aims and scope, completeness, originality, and similarity. ORCA supports similarity assessment; editors retain decision responsibility.

03OJS account and registration

For manuscripts that pass screening, Arkus creates or confirms the author’s OJS account, registers the manuscript, and sends login information.

04Double-blind peer review · 2–4 weeks

Three independent reviewers assess scientific substance, methodological rigor, ethics, clarity, and contribution.

05Editorial synthesis and decision

The editor consolidates all three reports and issues a reasoned decision: Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Decline.

06Revision · normally 1–2 weeks

The author submits a clean revision, tracked-changes version, and point-by-point response to reviewers and editor.

07Reassessment

Reviewers and editor determine whether substantive and methodological concerns have been addressed.

08Acceptance and Letter of Acceptance

When revisions are satisfactory and requirements are complete, the editor records acceptance and Arkus issues the Letter of Acceptance.

09Copyediting and author approval · about 1 week

The manuscript undergoes copyediting and proofreading. EIGO supports language assessment; the editorial team and authors approve the corrected manuscript.

10Galley proof and production

The author performs the final proof check. After corrections are confirmed, the manuscript moves to production and publication.
